Upcoming Basic Life Support Courses

The SRTA delivered Basic Life Support Course is designed to provide knowledge and skill in administering first aid. This SRTA delivered course complies with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommendations and is essential for all personnel.

Course Content:

The SRTA delivered Basic Life Support Course will give theoretical and practical guidance in the following areas:

  • the principles of First Aid
  • the DR’S’ABCD action plan
  • assessment of vital signs
  • recognising the need for CPR
  • CPR techniques
  • understanding the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • understanding choking and airway obstructions
  • first aid procedures for shock, bleeding and allergic reactions
  • reporting and recording an emergency
  • stress management and support

Certification outcomes:

Participants who complete this course will be issued a statement of attainment which is recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Statement of Attainment will be issued under the authority of the National Vocational Education and Regulation Act 2011.
