The SRTA delivered First response Course is designed to equip staff with the skills to safely control a fire emergency. Participants will be trained in general fire safety procedures and the safe use of fire fighting equipment. This compact course will cover the use of fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets and will provide theoretical and practical knowledge. The course involves realistic exercises to give participants the confidence to act in a wide variety of fire incidents.

This SRTA delivered course can be tailored to suit your company’s individual requirements and is delivered by industry experienced trainers.

Course Content:

Participants will become familiar with:

  • identification of elements of a fire incident
  • the principle elements of a fire extinguisher
  • classes of fire
  • identifying the different types of fire extinguishers
  • operations of fire extinguishers
  • safe work practices for fire extinguishers
  • appropriate use of a fire blanket

Certification outcomes:

Participants who complete this course will be issued a statement of attainment which is recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Statement of Attainment will be issued under the authority of the National Vocational Education and Regulation Act 2011.
