RIIWHS202D – Enter and work in Confined Space
Confined Space courses are designed to assist students in understanding the characteristics, hazards and legislative requirements needed to enter and work safely in confined spaces.
Students are introduced to legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards relating directly to confined space work. An understanding of hazard identification, safe work procedures, JSA/SWMS, confined space entry and exit requirements are covered.
Additional units of competency complimentary to this training can include breathing apparatus, gas detection, rescue, emergency procedures and firefighting. These units can be bundled dependent on the requirements of your workplace.
This training is appropriate for those working in confined space ( enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work, and is appropriate for those performing entry or standby person roles.

Work Safely at heights – RIIWHS204D
Work safely at heights courses are designed to assist employers and employees in understanding the characteristics, hazards and legislation requirements needed to work safely at heights.
Students are introduced to legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards relating directly to working safely at heights. An understanding of hazard identification, safe work procedures JSA/SWMS, and hierarchy of controls will be achieved.
Safely issues related to working at heights are covers, from how forces are generated in falls to correct selection and use of anchor points and height safety equipment. Included also is the use of ladders, scaffolding and elevated work platforms (EWP’s).
Students will develop, participate and apply skills in the safe management of working at height, from correctly fitting a full body harness and identifying harness features through to equipment inspection and maintenance and basic height rescue.
Students will be introduced and instructed on use to a large selection of height safety equipment, tailored to meet your specific company needs.
Undertake first response to fire incidents – MSMWHS212
(Fire extinguisher training)
Undertake first response to fire course is designed to enable workplace staff to safely control a fire emergency situation, understand general safety principles and the use of firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets.
Our industry experienced trainers deliver this short course utilising their wealth of knowledge and expertise in program that is easily understood. The program contains a theory component along with the ability to practice and apply practical skills in realistic exercises.
Course Content:
- Identify elements required for fire to occur
- Identify principal elements of fire extinguishment
- Identify classes of fire
- Identify different types of fire extinguisher and their application
- Operate fire extinguishers
- Know the safe work practices associated with using fire extinguishers
Operate Breathing Apparatus – MSMWHS216
Operate Breathing Apparatus – Open circuit (BA) course is designed to assist employees in understanding the characteristics, hazards and legislative requirements needed to safely operate respiratory protection.
An understanding of the operation and maintenance of breathing apparatus will be gained through a theory, practical and simulation sessions.
Students will learn about the different types of respiratory protection, application, use and selection of appropriate protection for different tasks.
Practical scenarios will ensure students are able to correctly
- Don BA Equipment
- Work whilst using BA equipment
- Calculate and monitor air consumption
- Calculate remaining air and return to safe atmosphere environments
- Correctly turn off and remove the BA ( along with completion of task cleaning and maintenance)
- Demonstrate through Emergency Control responses and search procedures.
